John Olson, Vice President and Quality Assurance Director

John has been an active realtor and associate broker for over four decades. Involved with northern Michigan mediation since 1990, John leads CRS' Quality Assurance program to ensure consistent training and accreditation for all its community volunteers. He joined the CRS Board of Directors in January, 2009.

A trained facilitator and mediator, John volunteers his time to coach and mediate sessions for CRS. He is particularly impressed with mediation as a useful skill because, "I can directly help people resolve their differences in a fair and neutral way. It's also a very valuable tool to use daily in my job as a realtor."

Dedicated to investing time in his community, John is involved in the greater Traverse City area to help grow the region. He serves as a director for Cherryland Electric Cooperative, is an active member of the Grand Traverse Rotary, and participates with the Chamber of Commerce in its New Designs for Growth initiative.

Recognizing northern Michigan has so much to offer, John loves the outdoors for its fishing, boating, and walking trails. Additionally, he and his wife, Carolyn, own and operate a local golf course. Together, they enjoy traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
