BUDROS RECIPIENT OF TOM AND DARYLENE SHEA AWARD
Traverse City, MI  November 1, 2007 Barbara Budros, a Traverse City resident and local attorney since 1987, was honored with the “Tom and Darylene Shea Award” for untiring CRS service, leadership, and, as Tom Shea wrote, “…her efficient and easy manner.”  The award was presented to Budros Wednesday evening at Conflict Resolution Services’ annual recognition event for its area volunteer mediators and supporters.  Budros, Chairperson for Conflict Resolution Services (CRS), has led the organization since 2004.  With Budros at its helm, CRS has been able to build strong community relationships with Rotary Charities, the Grand Traverse Leelanau Antrim Bar Association, Traverse Area Association of Realtors (TAAR) and other leadership groups who recognize their public can be well served by quality mediation.  With this widespread business support, CRS has been able to expand its case load and services to the Community.

According to Judge Philip Rodgers, “Barbara is an outstanding community volunteer which, in turn, complements her work in the Circuit Court.  She cares greatly about people, their rights, and how to make life better in Northern Michigan.  Her energy for these passions is boundless – and she gets results.”

Conflict Resolution Services, Inc., is a non-profit organization that offers affordable dispute resolution using trained, neutral mediators.  CRS delivers timely, non-adversarial mediation and arbitration services, facilitation of public or private meetings, state-certified mediator training, and customized skills-building training to area business firms and educators.
